I am, and forever will be, a Minnesotan! However, my schooling has taken me all over the country. I spent my undergrad time at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. My masters was completed at the University of Montana (Missoula), and I did my Ph.D. at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. I now live in southwest Connecticut with my husband and our dog.
Recreation
I'm pretty obsessed with reading. To truly relax, I enjoy historical non-fiction from many eras and places - to keep my interest from flagging on any one era, I usually have about 3 or 4 books going at a time. I also enjoy eating, but have been extremely disappointed by the lack of decent Mexican food (I am addicted whenever possible) in this region! Other than these two hobbies and my pup (Cleopatra, the pug; Mav, the mini dachshund, recently passed away), I pretty much fill my time working on school projects, which I actually find really enjoyable, nerd that I am.
Our current long-term goal is to plan and build our perfect house on wooded, very secluded acreage including a river or stream. This will allow us to pursue our TRUE goal of accumulating as many dogs (and possibly some cats and rescued pigs) as possible for whom we can make a home. The more acres and seclusion from people, the better for us and our menagerie!
